Rees NDT Inspection Services offers an extensive selection of non-destructive testing services to meet your needs.
We have CGSB/ASNT trained inspectors on staff to offer the following inspection methods:
Dry Magnetic Powder
Wet Fluorescent Magnetic Particle
Wet Black/White Magnetic Particle
The best-known trade name in Magnetic Particle inspection is Magnaflux
So occasionally we'll get asked to 'magnaflux' something!
Liquid Penetrant
Sometimes referred to as Dye Pen, LPI, or Dye Penetrant
LPI is used for non-magnetic materials
It's also ideal for checking for through-porosity, like ensuring that tanks are entirely sealed
Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement
Corrosion surveys of flowline, tanks, and pressure vessels
Ultrasonic Shear Wave
Used to detect subsurface flaws in materials as an alternative to X-rays
Positive Material Identification
Sometimes knows as 'Texas Nuke' after some of the first commercial units
A portable, handheld method of determining alloy composition when mill certs aren't available or known
We also do hardness testing using methods appropriate to the piece and the requirements, including:
Rockwell Hardness Testing--ASTM E18
Brinell Hardness Testing
--ASTM E10-07
Shore (rebound) Method
--ASTM A956
and the new
electric resistance method
We also have an in-house mechanical engineering department to serve your certification and design needs.
Whether your need is to determine a capacity for an as-built unit, or to design a unit for fabrication, certification and use, we have the team to meet your needs.
